Always on the air and in our hearts

Once more as testament to its' enduring popularity, according to this article Trevor will be receiving another BMI Million-Air award for "Owner of a Lonely Heart" - for hitting the five million mark of airings/performances of the song.  Also recognized at this year's BMI London Awards on October 1st is Trevor's colleague Harry Gregson-Williams, who will be presented with the BMI Icon award "in recognition of his unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers."

new website

As presaged by his Tweet from earlier this month, Trevor has a new website up now and it seems primarily a vehicle for his re-entry into the scoring world.

Ask the Maestro

Spotted on Twitter: it's nice to see Trevor engaging a bit more with social media, as I believe this is the first time I've seen him respond to someone directly on this platform.

thanks for the kind words. Not all of my films end up releasing a score album in addition to the soundtrack, however in those cases when nothing is available for purchase/streaming, I’ll link to YouTube pages that have them once my new website is up and running, soon :-)

— Trevor Rabin (@trevorrabin) September 15, 2018

future plans

Rick published his newest Grumpy Old Rick's Ramblings on Saturday, and he basically affirmed what I had stated in my ARW show review: the boys are packing it in for the rest of the year as far as band activities are concerned.

As ARW, we are taking the rest of this year off to concentrate on our personal projects and personal lives. Trev is doing the score for a new film, Jon has his new album about to come out and I have The Piano Odyssey album and tour taking me up to Xmas.

The release date of Jon's album 1000 Hands is supposedly at month's end, according to various sources, and Trevor had stated in his interview with Celluloid Tunes that he would be seeking new scoring projects as soon as they came off the road, so if he already has an assignment that's something for us all to look forward to - I'll be keeping an eye out for when it's revealed.

road warrior, part five

This particular photo seems, to me, to sum up Lee's year as a working musician: bouncing in and out of various ensembles - but beloved by all, naturally.  And now he's on his fourth jaunt of the year, mere days after the conclusion of ARW's short summer tour, accompanying the Jeff Lynne's ELO European tour for the next two months.

A rather spirited moment from Jeff Lynne's ELO concert at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Saturday August 18, 2018 #jefflynneselo #leepomeroy
