new single and video from Live At The Apollo

As next Friday marks the actual release of Live At The Apollo, Eagle Rock is giving us one more advance single today, one of Trevor's signature compositions and a YesWest classic, "Changes."  You can find it on all your usual digital distribution platforms.

But there's one more performance video from the DVD/Blu-ray as well, so for All you Good People out there, enjoy your Friday and if you are among those going to see ARW in Phoenix tonight, then here's a taste of what you'll be rockin' out to later on.

fan casting, round two

Spotted on Twitter: some readers may recall that back in October of last year I posted an entry regarding fan casting for Trevor and I came across another such mention today.

I have to say I understand why this person nominated actor George Griffith to portray Trevor in his golden years but as pleasing as his particular bone structure is, I find him a bit too angular and patrician for Trevor's particular type of attractiveness.

I don't know if I had mentioned him previously but I also think that a young Adrian Grenier (best known for his lead role on the television series Entourage) could have pulled it off (with some brown contact lenses and accent coaching, of course).  And remember I'm always up to read who you think should be cast as Trevor in a biopic!

silver screen wisdom

Spotted on Instagram: Heidi Hornbacher of PageCraft (a company which facilitates screenwriting workshops) interviewed Trevor for what she described as "a documentary in progress" providing his insights into the craft of filmmaking, one presumes.

Speaking of wardrobe...

I'll have a full review of the San Diego show in a few days but I wanted to make special note of the fact that Jon was living up to his reputation of Prog Rock fashion icon last night as he wore a completely different outfit while his bandmates donned their clothes from the previous night.  But I was glad to see Trevor brought back his plectrum charm necklace, I was wearing mine too!

Media Watch: some other videos

I happened to come across this short interview segment with Trevor from earlier in the month - again, the things I miss when I'm out of town!

And the available video from the band's appearance on Jonesy's Jukebox has also been uploaded.

Media Watch: new interview with Good Day LA

It's a busy media day today!  A very lucky Gina Silva visits Trevor at The Jacaranda Room...

limited engagement

As promised and promoted, the boys paid a visit to KLOS' Subaru Live Stage today, hosted by Steve Jones.  A freewheeling interview ensued, along with various musical interludes (such as an impromptu cover of Cliff Richards and The Shadows' "The Young Ones") and also Story Time with Trevor (that striped shirt making an appearance) discussing the origins of "Owner of a Lonely Heart" with a brief unplugged performance featuring audience accompaniment on backing vocals and percussive handclaps.  Also aired were "I've Seen All Good People" and "Roundabout" from Live At The Apollo.

New videos!

As I first reported in May, this week and last would see the release of the advance singles from Live At The Apollo as well as accompanying videos taken from the concert film.

late summer banger

Next up in the Captain Cuts oeuvre is a collaboration with Los Angeles-based DJ Zookëper and singer/songwriter Georgia Ku on the House/EDM single "Do You Think About Me?" released earlier this month - perfect for those sweaty dancefloor workouts.

A magical axe indeed

Spotted on Instagram: recently composer Charles Scott IV had an up-close encounter with the Strat and I believe he gave Trevor's baby the proper reverence in his post...

More cross-promotional actvities

With thanks to my dear Cee for the heads-up.

I swear this is always the way - whenever I'm out of town something interesting is announced or debuted.  In this case it's another gig sponsored by Los Angeles radio station KLOS.  And as indicated on the website, this will be a live broadcast via Jonesy's Jukebox.  For those who have entered their contest I wish you all good luck!

Spot the Poms, part six

The North American tour for Jeff Lynne's ELO began this past week and so Lee (attired in his snazzy purple suit) joined his bandmate and ARW's substitute bassist Iain Hornal (who does an amazing impersonation of Roy Orbison) on stage once again for an evening full of iconic hits and one hell of a light show...

Here's a glimpse from backstage and I might be wrong about this but the man preceding Jeff in the walk to the stage looks to be famed tour manager Richard Fernandez (but without his trademark hat).  If you watch the entire clip you'll see Lee mugging for the camera.
