Trevor performed like a Starship Trooper in Los Angeles, the day he was diagnosed with pneumonia (I don't think anyone would have been able to tell had Jon not mentioned it during the show), but of course it's something you can't necessarily just power your way through, poor baby (though you know he'd try to just for us)!  Here's hoping a couple days more rest will lend Trevor the strength to make it through the remaining week of the tour.

Fashion Watch: get this look...(?)

Given my curiosity regarding the t-shirt Trevor wore at the Los Angeles show - since I wasn't close enough to the stage to make out the design - I'm so glad someone explained it (note also the uniformly dapper presence of Lee Pomeroy).

I'm not certain if it means Trevor's style in this case could be aptly described as a mix of thrift store and couture, but I love it nonetheless!

As Thanksgiving is nearly upon us here in the US, I am giving thanks for experiencing a wonderful show by ARW at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles last night, and also that Ryan dropped in to take Lou's chair again on "Owner of a Lonely Heart" for a particularly muscular performance.

Jon made the joke that Ryan is "14 years old but doesn't look a day over 14" but in fact is in his 30s now and appears - like his parents - perpetually younger than his years.

update from Rick

Today Rick posted the latest edition of his Grumpy Old Rick's Ramblings and - as has been previously stated and was fully expected - is full of enthusiasm for his new /old bandmates.  He also provided an update regarding plans for 2017.

We're two thirds of the way through the tour as I write this and I can't repeat enough times how amazing this has been both musically and the wonderful atmosphere both on and off stage.
Trevor and I have what I can only describe as a telepathic musical feeling between us as we both seem to be aware of what the other is going to do at any given musical moment.
Jon's voice is stronger and as beautiful sounding as I have ever heard it and there are not enough superlatives to describe the playing of Lou Molino III and Lee Pomeroy.
I have said it before, but I will say it again that this is the finest line up of musicianship of any form of YES I have ever had the privilege of being a part of and long may it continue.
We have plans to complete new recordings early in the New Year and also there are dates booked in Japan and Belgium and Holland as well as the UK shows.

musical families and friendships

Really wonderful to see this tweet from Adam Wakeman, who ran into his dad and his Headspace bandmate while on tour with his dayjob, Black Sabbath.  Adam and Lee are in that excellent progressive metal ensemble (seriously, if you like that sort of thing you should check out Headspace, they are stellar) and Trevor mentioned in a recent interview that Ryan might also be stopping by an ARW show near him, so it's great to see the generations, friendships, and musical connections this tour is promoting.

Fashion Watch: touring in style

As the first month of the ARW tour is now in the books, if we consider the wardrobe choices of the boys (including Lou and Lee as well), Trevor was the one who showed the most diversity in his onstage attire.  Given that we live in the age of the Internet and can observe this tour occurring in real time, there is documentation of every show.  Some nights featured similar outfits, but unlike Rick (who wears the same thing every night) and Jon (who has a couple suits), Trevor was switching it up more frequently.  So let's relive the glory of the many looks of the Maestro - and hit me up on email to let me know what you think is the best outfit!
(Me?  I think it was the dark flowered shirt and black pants - different from the black track pants - but I'm of the opinion that Our Trev was born to wear flowered shirts.  A snazzy and classy Guitar God is what I like to see.)
